Crookes and Crookesmoor form a large, traditional student village perched on a hill overlooking the University of Sheffield. This area is the number one choice for many UofS students due to its proximity to campus – for many, it's just a short walk down the hill to lectures. It has a slightly more relaxed, community-focused feel than Ecclesall Road, with many traditional pubs that are popular with students. While it involves an uphill walk home, the views over the city and the value for money make finding a student house in Crookes a top priority for thousands of students every year.
